New York Elks Lodge #1 has gone through many changes since its inception in 1868.  It has since moved from its original location in Manhattan, merging with Elmont Lodge, Valley Stream Lodge and just recently Hempstead/Franklin Square and Lynbrook Lodges.  It is currently located at 57 Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook, Long Island, New York.
